THIS IS A PRELIMINARY WORKING DRAFT
In 1937, Robert Rius, Benjamin Péret, André Breton and Remedios Varo invented the game of communicated (or successive) drawing. A drawing made by the first participant is shown for three seconds to a second participant, who then attempts to reproduce it from memory. The second drawing is then briefly shown to a third participant, who then attempts to reproduce it. These cycles are repeated to include all participants. The evolution of the original image through the successive drawings is often unexpected and produces results that could not come from just one person. This game was played mainly in the late 1930’s.
The following list gives the catalogue numbers of the communicated drawings by participant.
